Some projects evolve in ways you never expect...

The intial plan was to create a performance piece using Virtual Production – filming the band in a studio with AI-generated environments on an LED stage.

As I started exploring ideas, one image kept coming back to me: a lone astronaut drifting through space.

The more I experimented, the more it became clear that this story wanted to be something different. Rather than mixing live action with AI backgrounds, I decided to fully embrace the process and create the entire film using AI. It opened up a way of telling the story that simply wouldn’t have been possible with a conventional production.

For me, this project wasn’t about replacing filmmaking. It was about discovering a new way of directing – one where the same instincts around story, composition, rhythm and emotion still apply, just through a different creative process.
